If you are new to weight loss or overweight and have a medical condition you think might be contributing to this, I recommend you visit my Weight Loss Center. Here you can find information on many of the medications that can make weight loss even more difficult.
Most of the drugs are not effective for weight loss. When you have medical problems, especially serious diseases, you have a lower chance of losing weight. I believe that medical problems such as obesity are largely preventable with diet, exercise, and counseling. If your doctor is not providing you with information about these topics, you may want to seek help from a doctor or dietitian. My personal opinion is that if you are overweight or obese, it is best to lose weight by reducing your calorie intake and getting the right help with exercise, nutrition, and other dieting strategies.
